Checking the valve-cylinder combination
WARNING
Too slow or delayed pressure build-up of the auxi-
liary pilot air can lead to sudden movements of the
actuators under the following conditions:
– when the compressed air is switched on via the
safety start-up valve (slow pressure build-up) and
– with electric signals present
(e.g. after EMERGENCY STOP)
This can lead to damage to the machine or system
and even cause injury to humans.
• Supply the auxiliary pilot air separately via the
right-hand end plate (3 to 8 bar).
The auxiliary pilot air must be applied at full pressure
immediately after switching on, in order that the
following valves can switch:
– single solenoid valves
– double solenoid valves which are switched to through
flow during the pressureless phase
– mid-position valves with basic position exhausted
– mid-position valves with basic position blocked.
Otherwise, the slow pressure build-up of the complete
supply will not have any effect with the controlled actua-
tors.
