The EIA line Adapter card is
defective (A-D7)(MIM 823).

Power off.
Remove the wrap connector.
Remove the EIA line adapter
card.
Use the CE meter on the RXl
scale to measure the resistance
for a short to the 'Transmitted'
line. A short will read less
than 20 ohms. Measure the extra
'Received' line at probe point
D.
Is the line shorted to the line
being wrapped?

The wrap connector is defective.

Remove the parts listed below
one at a time in the order given
until the short goes away. The
last part removed is defective.
The internal cable.
The communications MPU card.
If the short is still present,
the logic board is defective.
If a 'Ros Patch' cable is
connected to the card,
GO TO MAP 0600, ENTRY POINT A.
