Paper Handling > Loading Paper

Adjust the multipurpose tray size by pressing the release lever,

and load paper.

To load paper larger than A4-R or 81/2 x 11-R, pull out the extension tray.

Insert the paper along the paper width guides into the tray until it stops.

After removing new paper from its packaging, fan the paper before loading it in the

multipurpose tray.

Precautions on Paper (page 7-8)

Adjust the paper width guide so that there are no gaps between the guide and the

paper. Any part of the paper that is out of place may fold, contact the print head, and

cause print head damage, skewed feeding, or a paper jam.

• Load the paper with the print side up.

• Do not use paper with burring.

• Before loading paper in the multipurpose tray, check that there is no paper

remaining in the tray from a previous job. If there is just a small amount of paper

remaining in the multipurpose tray and you want to add more, remove the

remaining paper from the tray and combine it with the new paper before loading in
