STARTER M OTOR
5. M easure:
• brush length a
Out of specification → Replace the
brushes as a set.
M in. brush length
5 mm
6. M easure:
• brush spring force
Out of specification → Replace the
brush springs as a set.
Brush spring force
7.03 ~ 10.63 N (717 ~ 1,084 gf)
7. Check:
• gear teeth
Dam age/w ear → Replace the gear.
8. Check:
• bearing
• oil seal
Dam age/w ear → Replace the defective
part(-s).

ASSEM BLING THE STARTER M OTOR
1. Install:
• brush seat 1
NOTE:
Align the tab a on the brush seat w ith
the slot b in the starter m otor rear
cover.
2. Install:
• starter m otor yoke 1
• O-rings 2
• starter m otor front cover 3
• starter m otor rear cover 4
• bolts
NOTE:
Align the m atch m arks a on the starter
m otor yoke w ith the m atch m arks b on
the front and rear covers.
