CHECKING THE FUEL PUM P
1. Check:
• fuel pum p 1
a. Rem ove the fuel tank.
Refer to " FUEL TANK" in chapter 3.
b. Disconnect the fuel-pum p-to-carbure-
tor fuel hose 2 from the carburetor.
c. Connect the fuel-tank-to-fuel-pum p
fuel hose to the fuel tank and then set
the fuel cock to " ON" .
d. Place a container under the end of the
fuel hose 2.
e. Start the engine and check if fuel
flow s from the fuel hose 2.
Fuel flow s.
Fuel does not
flow .
f. Stop the engine and check if the fuel
stops flow ing from the fuel hose 2.
Fuel stops flow -
ing.
Fuel flow s.

Fuel pump is OK.
Replace the fuel
pump.
