REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEM BLY

REM OVING THE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER
ASSEM BLY
1. Stand the m otorcycle on a level surface.
WARNING
WARNING
Securely support the motorcycle so that
there is no danger of it falling over.
NOTE:
Place the m otorcycle on a suitable stand
so that the rear w heel is elevated.
2. Rem ove:
• rear shock absorber assem bly low er
bolt 1
• relay-arm -to-sw ingarm bolt 2
NOTE:
While rem oving the rear shock absorber
assem bly low er bolt, hold the sw ingarm
so that it does not drop dow n.
3. Rem ove:
• rear shock absorber assem bly upper
bolt 1
• rear shock absorber assem bly
NOTE:
Raise the sw ingarm and then rem ove
the rear shock absorber assem bly from
betw een the sw ingarm .

CHECKING THE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER
ASSEM BLY AND GAS CYLINDER
1. Check:
• rear shock absorber rod
Bends/dam age → Replace the rear
shock absorber assem bly.
• rear shock absorber
Gas leaks/oil leaks → Replace the rear
shock absorber assem bly.
• spring
Dam age/w ear → Replace the rear
shock absorber assem bly.
• gas cylinder
Dam age/gas leaks → Replace.
• bushings
Dam age/w ear → Replace.
• dust seals
Dam age/w ear → Replace.
• bolts
Bends/dam age/w ear → Replace.
