The PLC (Figure 8-5) signals the centering
guides solenoid valve causing the air cylinder
Box Centering Guides to move inward
and centering the box (Figure 8-6).
Note: Centering Guide force can be adjusted
Upper Assembly Raise Switch:
Once the box has been centered,
push box forward against Upper
Assembly Raise Switch (Figure 8-7).
The Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
also signals the upper assembly lift
solenoid valve causing the air cylinder to
raise the Upper Drive Assembly.
The Upper Drive Assembly lifts above
box height so box can move forward
under Upper Assembly (Figure 8-8).
Note: Lift force is controlled by the

Drive Assembly, Upper Assembly Raise
Switch releases and Programmed Logic
Control (PLC) allows upper drive
assembly to descend on top of box.
