Note:
The number of available channels is not identical for all devices. You
should therefore also refer to the technical documentation for your
product. As a rule, channels 1 to 11 are usually available.
Transmission Rate
The transmission rate should be adapted to your wireless network. As
a rule, the setting Best (automatic) is sufficient. Under certain circum-
stances, however, it is necessary to change this setting.
If you make changes here, please observe: The range of a wireless net-
work decreases with higher data rates and increases with lower data
rates.
• Best (automatic)
Automatic fallback according to the quality of the connection,
starting with 11 or 54 Mbps. This is the recommended setting.
• Fixed x Mbps
Sets a fixed data rate. Fixed 1 Mbps can be used to optimize the
range for lower data rates. Fixed 11 Mbps can be used to optimize
the throughput for lower ranges. Fixed 11 Mbps makes sense only
if all wireless clients are operated at a short distance and reach opti-
mum connection quality.
802.11 Mode
Operating mode of the ComPoint.
• 802.11b only
ComPoint exclusively operates according to 802.11b.
• 802.11g only
ComPoint exclusively operates according to 802.11g.
• Mixed 802.11g and 802.11b
The ComPoint adapts itself to the technology used by the commu-

• Mixed 802.11g and 802.11b long:
The ComPoint adapts itself to the technology used by the commu-
nication partners and uses 802.11g or 802.11b. All WLAN devices
of the wireless network must support the data transmission rates
5.5 and 11 Mbps (basic rates).
Transmit Power
Allows you to set the maximum value for the radiated antenna power.
The actually radiated antenna power may be lower than the maxi-
