Removing the internal SCIM module

Use the procedure in this section to remove a SCIM module from the
Secure Router 2330.
ATTENTION
The internal SCIM module is not hot swappable. Do not open the Secure Router
2330 top cover while the unit is powered.
Prerequisites
•
Ensure you have a Phillips #1 screwdriver.
•
Ensure the Secure Router 2330 is powered off.
•
Ensure you have an antistatic bag or sheet available for the SCIM that
you are removing.

Installing or removing the internal PVIM module on the Secure
Router 2330
Use the instructions in this section to install, remove, or replace the
internal PVIM module on the Secure Router 2330. This internal module
is not hot swappable.
If you ordered the PVIM module with your Secure Router 2330, the Secure
Router ships with the PVIM module installed. The estimated average time
to install the internal PVIM module is fifteen minutes.
Action
Remove the Secure Router 2330 top cover. For information, see
"Removing the Secure Router 2330 top cover" (page
Remove the screw that secures the SCIM module to the Main
Board.
Grasping the edges of the SCIM module, pull the module up and
off of the Main Board connector on which it is seated.
If you are not installing a SCIM module at this time, replace the
chassis top cover.
CAUTION
Do not open the Secure Router 2330 top cover while the unit
is powered.
