    Use the information in this section to familiarize yourself with the Nortel Secure Router 4134 chassis. Secure Router 4134 chassis The Nortel Secure Router 4134 is a secure WAN routing platform designed for use as customer premises equipment (CPE). The Secure Router 4134 provides multiservice capabilities for carrier- and self-managed enterprise customers.
  • Page 22 As a general safety precaution, be sure to provide DC power through a circuit breaker on the equipment rack. The Secure Router 4134 chassis is two rack units high (3.5 inches [in.]; 8.9 centimeters [cm]). You mount the Secure Router 4134 in a 19-in. (48.26 cm) equipment rack.
  • Page 23 Status LEDs: The upper LED indicates the status of the power supply installed in power supply slot 1. The lower LED indicates the status of the power supply installed in power supply slot 0. Green indicates the Secure Router 4134 has power. Off indicates the router is not powered.

    Service access panel Important information about the Secure Router 4134 You can mount multiple Secure Router 4134s in the same rack without an air gap between the units, and you can intermingle them with other Nortel products or other vendor equipment. CAUTION Cable bundles must not block the intake or exhaust vents of the Secure Router 4134.

    Slot numbering on the Secure Router 4134 A slot numbering legend is printed directly above the chassis SFP Ethernet ports (ports 0/3 and 0/4) on the front panel of the Secure Router 4134. The legend shows how slots are numbered on the Secure Router 4134. The following figure shows the slot numbering legend.

    --End-- Installing the terminal lug on the Secure Router 4134 You must properly ground the Secure Router 4134 before you place it in service. You can connect your ground wire to the grounding strip of the equipment rack, but you must also ensure that the equipment rack is properly grounded.
