Symptom
Cannot start recording.
Volume level is too small or
no sound is heard even if

Possible cause
The audio source has already
been registered to the phrase
to which you want to record.
Memory card is full.
Microphone is not correctly
connected to the microphone
input jack or external audio
player to the line input terminal
at the time of recording.
Input level from the external
audio player to the unit is too
small at the time of recording.
Audio signals are entered
to the input not intended for
recording.
Program sound volume is
decreased.
Sound volume of wav file is
the
audio
decreased.
Program sound volume is
decreased.
Higher-priority broadcast is
currently being made.
Microphone is not correctly
connected to the Microphone
input jack or external audio
player to the Line input
terminal.
Input level from the external
audio player to the unit is
decreased.
Remedy
Delete the audio source registered to the
phrase to which you want to record, then
start recording. (See p. 25.)
Delete unnecessary audio sources, then
start recording.
Correctly connect the microphone to the
microphone input jack or external audio
player to the line input terminal, then start
recording.
Adjust sound volume of the external audio
player for an appropriate volume level.
(See p. 22, "Recording to Phrase.")
Stop audio signals from entering such input.
Also, set the volume knob of such input to
the minimum position.
Check the program sound volume using the
EV-700 Setting software.
Or, turn on the AGC using the EV-700
Setting software and the sound volume is
automatically adjusted. (See the EV-700
Setting software instruction manual.)
Adjust the sound volume of wav file first,
then transfer the file to the unit.
Or, turn on the AGC using the EV-700 Setting
software and the playback sound volume
is automatically adjusted. (See the EV-700
Setting software instruction manual.)
Check the program sound volume using the
EV-700 Setting software.
Or, turn on the AGC using the EV-700 Setting
software and the playback sound volume
is automatically adjusted. (See the EV-700

Check the broadcast priority level. (See
the EV-700 Setting software instruction
manual.)
Higher-priority broadcast of the Microphone
broadcast, Line input broadcast, and
Normal broadcast is made preferentially.
Lower-priority broadcast is not made while
higher-priority broadcast is being made.
Correctly connect the microphone to the
Microphone input jack or external audio
player to the Line input terminal.
Adjust the sound level of the external audio
player for an appropriate level. (See p. 84,
"Making the Line input broadcast.")
Adjust the input volume control while
monitoring the level meter.
