30. IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS

30.1. Troubleshooting

Symptom
Power indicator not light.
Power is not turned on.
Cannot play.
No sound output even when
playback is started.
Playback not start even if you
close the Contact-activated
input terminal.
Possible cause
Power is not supplied.
Memory card not inserted
into the Memory card Slot A.
(The Card error indicator is
lit.)
The unit is placed
Maintenance mode.
(The Maintenance indicator
is lit.)
An error has occurred at
the unit. ("Errxx" error code
indication appears on the
Status display.)
Unusable memory card is
inserted.
Line output terminals are not
correctly connected.
Whole sound volume
program sound volume is set
too low.
Line output terminals are not
correctly connected.
Whole sound volume
program sound volume is set
too low.
Output destinations are not
correctly set.
Normal broadcast is set to
OFF in the Broadcast priority
level setting.
Contact-activated
terminal is not correctly
connected.
No phrase is registered to the
program corresponding to
the closed Contact-activated
input terminal number.
Control function "Direct" or
"Binary" is not correctly set
as intended.
Supply power to the unit's AC adapter input
terminal or DC power input terminal.
Note: The unit is not equipped with a power
switch.
Securely insert the memory card into the
Memory card Slot A.
in Quit the setting on the EV-700 Setting
software or return all the switches of the
DIP switch used for Maintenance to the
OFF position.
Refer to the Error list (See p. 100.), then
follow the instructions.
Use the supplied memory card or the
optional card which can be bought from
your nearest TOA dealer.
Connect the Line output terminals correctly.
or Adjust the whole sound volume and
program sound volume for an appropriate
volume level.
Connect the line output terminals correctly.
or Adjust the whole volume or program sound
volume for an appropriate volume level.
Check the Program
destinations.

Check the Broadcast priority level setting.
(See the EV-700 Setting software instruction
manual.)
input Check connection of the Contact-activated
input terminal. (See p. 28, "ACTIVATING
OPERATION BY WAY OF EXTERNAL
CONTROL.")
Record an audio source to the phrase
registered in the program or register the
phrase using the EV-700 Setting software.
Check which function has been set on the
EV-700 Setting software.
(When set to Binary control function,
activate playback by way of make contacts
in combination with the Contact-activated
input terminal and Contact control input
