3.1.2 Setting up the operating mode for the AS-Interface master

Open the process data dialog for the selected bus module. To do this, click on
the Process data command in the context menu for the module (node view or
navigation).
The current state of the AS-Interface master is shown in the Properties area.
The required operating mode for the AS-Interface master is set by means of
the control flags.

3.1.3 Including a new slave in the AS-Interface network

Open the process data dialog for the selected bus module. To do this, click on
the Process data command in the context menu for the module (node view or
navigation). Switch on the Configuration active (CA) control flag in the
Properties area for the master.
You can include a new slave in the AS-Interface network in different ways.
Connect the new slave to the AS-Interface network with the address 0. The
master will detect the slave automatically and will report this in the Properties
area for the master with the message "Slave at address 00 (S0)". Click on this
message to select the new slave and set the required address in the New
Address field. The master will then scan all the slaves. Select the new slave
from the slave overview and accept the configuration data by pressing S

Alternatively, set up the slave with the necessary configuration at the required
address. Select the address by clicking on the appropriate line in the slave
overview. Then set up the required configuration. Accept the configuration
data by pressing S

the Configuration Active (CA) control flag. Connect the new slave to the
AS-Interface network. The master will automatically assign the address of the
set-up slave when the Auto Address Enable (AAe) control flag is switched
on and the following requirements for automatic addressing are fulfilled:
1. There is one and only one slave with the address 0 in the network,
2. One and only one slave is detected by the master as missing,
3. The configuration of the missing slave corresponds to that of the new slave.
The fulfilment of the requirements is indicated by the Auto Address Assign
(AAs) and Auto Address Available (AAv) status flags.
