General information

≤he laser distance sensor is an optical distance sensor that operates according to the time-of-flight
measurement procedure.
≤he sensor consists of the following components:
• ≤ransmitter: laser spot
• Receiver
• White OLED display
• Control panel with membrane keyboard
• Status LEDs
• Connection for connecting to the control: M12 connector or cable outlet with open cable end or M12
connector
≤he sensor can be configured using display and control buttons.

Operating principle

≤ime-of-flight measurement procedure
≤he laser distance sensor determines the distance of an object via the propagation time of a light pulse
emitted by the sensor's transmitter that is reflected by the object and received by the sensor's receiver.
≤he measurement time is set via the display and control panel or by means of configuration software.
Advantages of the time-of-flight measurement principle:
• Large measurement range
• Low influence of gloss and structures on the measurement value
