7.2 Cooperation areas

7.2 Cooperation areas
Function description
The owner organization can use the "cooperation area" function to make one of its
machines in SINUMERIK Integrate accessible to other organizations. This allows
experts from different organizations to cooperate efficiently when performing
troubleshooting on a machine.
Each person involved can access the released machine as if it were within their
own organization. This applies with just a few exceptions: "Administrator" (machine
manufacturer), "service engineer" or "machine operator"
See also Section: Appendix.
Fig. 7-17: How cooperation areas work
"Cooperation area between machine OEM and end user"; the machine tool is
located on the end user's premises but is managed by the OEM (e.g. during the
warranty period).
This function therefore permits cooperation between companies (machine
manufacturers, machine users, external service providers) because release is not
limited to one additional partner but any number of organizations can be connected
to one machine.
The release mechanism is conveniently designed to permit short-term release for
eliminating faults quickly as well as long-term release, e.g. for maintenance by an
external service provider.
A requirement for using the cooperation area is that the organization to which a
machine is to be released for use is also set up as an OEM service organization.
