RSE, RSN, and RSL
(READ-STROBE E, N, & L)
All of the leading edges are risen pulses.
All three of these
Signals are input through the same gate by the strobe input to the
internal data separator.
Because different disk drives have different inner and outer read
margins for their media, the RSN is preset to the center and the
data is input at locations offset in either direction from the
center.
The mode setting selection a type of strobe to help (when
necessary) with error recovery.
The appropriate delay time, about the same as the DD2 time (half
the 4F-CLOCK cycle),
is set as the center.

WDN and WMD
(WRITE-DATA-NRZ & WRITE-MODIFIED-DATA)
When serial NRZ data synchronized to the 2F clock is input to WDN
from the HDC or FDC, the data modified by MFM or FM is output as
WMD.
PED, PND, and PLD
(PRECOMPENSATION-EARLY, NORMAL,
& LATE-DATA)
In MFM mode, only precompensation selections EXT and YES are
effective.
The amount of compensation varies according to the type of disk
drive.
During: internal mode, when the compensation amount is not enough,
PED is input for data offset to the inside of the center (PDN)
and PLD for data offset to the outside of the center.
WMD output
must be used for generation of all three areas of data.
DWD
(DISK-WRITE-DATA)
This signal must be input to the disk interface output driver for
serial data output including write precompensation, missing blocks,
etc.
