Parameterization of the drives

Introduction
The following components are parameterize/configured with the drive wizard:
● Motor
● encoder
● Interface signals
Parameterizing/configuring
You are in the "Commissioning > Drive system" menu.
ALL drives (SERVOs) are configured via the "Drives" softkey.
Note
Motors with SMI (DRIVE-CLiQ) are automatically configured by the drive unit during the
device configuration with a drive data set (DDS), but only with the motor measuring system;
i.e. motors with SMI only have to be configured with the drive wizard when more than one
drive/motor/encoder data set (DDS/MDS/EDS) or a second (direct) measuring system is
required.
If a motor module (power section) is connected to a motor of which the encoder is controlled
via the SMC (Sensor Module Cabinet), i.e. not with a SMI (Sensor Module Integrated), then
you have various configuration options at your disposal.
● Standard motors, listed with corresponding motor data.
● Third-party motors where the motor data can be freely configured.
