Positioning axes

Positioning axes are channel axes traversing parallel to the path axes without interpolating
with them.
Positioning axes can be traversed either from the parts program or from the PLC.
Concurrent machine axes
The machine data
● MD30450 IS_CONCURRENT_POS_AX (concurr. positioning axis) = 1
if a channel axis is defined neutral as a default. As a result no REORG takes place if the
axis/spindle is traversed by the PLC (FC18) or by synchronous actions.
Positioning axis feedrate
If a positioning axis is programmed in the parts program without specifying an axis-specific
feedrate, the feedrate entered in
● MD32060 POS_AX_VELO (initial setting for positioning axis velocity)
entered feed rate.
This feedrate will apply until an axis-specific feedrate is programmed in the parts program for
this axis.
