Sensor mounting in magnetic conveyors

The mounting of the sensors according to the following picture results in reliable double sheet
detection. It is important that the holding magnets are arranged in such a way that no secondary
magnetic flux develops between two magnetic conveyors rails either through the air or the sheet. It
is important that the mounting of the magnets in the conveyor belts results in an opposite magnetic
flux configuration of the type N<-->N or S<-->S.

Whenever possible the sensors should not be mounted close to the magnetic rails, but with the
greatest possible distance between the conveyors rails. The mounting brackets should consist of
plastic or stainless steel. Aluminum or materials of high electrical conductivity dampen the sensors
and reduce the performance substantially.
In order to reduce the disturbing effect of the magnets in dynamic measuring mode, we suggest
to mount the receiver at the largest possible distance. As a minimum distance for sensor type
IE42-30GS we require 40 mm.

Note
sensor should be mounted on the side that is opposite to the magnets.
If electromagnets are used in the conveyor belts, they must be supplied
with DC current. The residual ripple of the supply voltage must not exceed
5%. The supply voltage / current of the electromagnets may not be pulsed
during the measurement, as this distorts the measurement result.
