4.3.3
Position of the sheet in the sensor gap
Ideally the sheet should be transferred through the middle of the sensor gap. This guarantees
reliable and accurate results of the measurement. The sheet to be measured must be in the same
position in the sensor gap during Teach-In and during the normal operation. If the position of the
sheet changes during normal operation from the Teach-In position then the measured value
changes also. The larger the deviation of the measurement position the larger is the distortion of
the measured value.
4.3.4
Sensor distances
The usable sensor distances can be read from the sensor diagrams.
For details refer to chapter 2.3
4.3.5
Distance between adjacent pairs of sensors
In order to except adjacent sensor pairs from influencing each other, a distance of the sensor pairs
of min. 120 mm (between the center axis of the sensors) must be kept.
4.3.6
Electromagnetic interference
Electromagnetic interference can affect the measuring accuracy of the sensor. Therefore the
sensors should not be installed close to devices which cause electromagnetic interference. Such
devices are e.g. frequency converters, servo motors or proximity switches on inductive basis.
In case of switching magnets a minimum distance of 30 mm should be respected in order to
avoid feedback. For proximity switches a minimum distance of 120 mm is required.
The sensor cables should not be placed directly adjacent to cables with large interference potential,
e.g. power supply cable. This applies especially to longer cable lengths.
