RECEPTION
This chapter describes the various methods of reception that can be adopted on the facsimile machine:
-
Manual reception, which requires you to be present when a facsimile or telephone call is received. In this
case, the telephone takes priority over the facsimile machine.

Manual reception with the fax/phone switch enabled, which distinguishes between the two types of call
(facsimile or telephone).

Automatic reception, which enables documents to be received automatically, even if you are out. In this
way, you can receive important documents even outside office hours.

Polling reception, which enables you to receive a previously stored document even if the remote user in
possession of the document is not present.

Private mailbox reception, which enables confidential documents to be received. Instead of being printed,
the documents are stored in a specific memory location. The document can only be printed out once the
password has been entered.

Substitute reception, which enables documents to be received in the memory when there is no paper or
ink left, if the paper has jammed or the facsimile is performing printing operations. The documents will be
stored in a specific location of the memory and will automatically be printed when the facsimile is restored
to normal operation.
Remember that any of the procedures described in this chapter can be interrupted at any time by pressing
STOP. If you want to interrupt the connection, press STOP and LINE STATUS at the same time. If you want
to check the facsimile's operating status during reception, press and hold down LINE STATUS.
FROM AUTOMATIC TO MANUAL RECEPTION AND VICE VERSA
The facsimile machine is set initially for automatic reception. You can, however, choose the reception method
before starting an operation, by following the procedure described below.

The facsimile machine is on. Position the mask (right-hand section of the console) to display the function
keys.

Press USER SW.
Press ∨ ∨ ∨ ∨ ∨ twice to select the "AUTOMATIC RX"

parameter.

Press START to confirm the parameter selected.
