PROBLEM
You cannot receive a document.
You cannot print a document receivedin
the memory.
You cannot have a telephone conversation
on the facsimile machine.
A document received or copied is not
automatically reduced.
The document received is completely blank.
The document sent is completely blank.
The document received is very light.
The document received is very dark.
There are vertical lines on the document
received.
There are vertical lines on the document
copied.
There are smudged characters and/or
figures on the document received or
smudges all over the page.
The document received or copied has in-
complete characters or white lines on the
characters and/or figures or all over the
page.
CHECK IF:
• the facsimile machine is switched on;
• there is no paper left and the memory is full;
• paper is jammed inside the machine and the memory is
full;
• with a telephone connected to the telephone socket of the
facsimile machine, the dialling tone can be heard (if not,
call the Customer Engineering Service).
• there is paper left;
• paper is jammed inside the machine.
• The telephone is connected correctly to the telephone
socket of the facsimile machine.
• the "REDUCTION" parameter has been enabled in the
operating configuration (see the "Setting the operating
configuration parameters" section of the "PROGRAM-
MING" chapter).
• the sender inserted the document correctly into his facsi-
mile machine.
• the document was inserted face up into the facsimile
machine.
• the document sent is very light.
• the document sent is very dark.
• the optical reader glass of the sending unit is dirty.
• the optical reader glass is dirty.
• the correct type of printing paper is being used;
• the printing nib is clean (see paragraph B1 of the "Checking
the print head nozzles" section).
• the electrical contacts of the print cartridge are clean;
• the print cartridge is damaged (see paragraphs A2 and B2
of the "Checking the print head nozzles" section).
