Lift the handset and talk as normal. If you hear no dialling tone, press TALK before starting to converse.
If the correspondent does not answer the telephone within a few seconds, the facsimile machine returns
automatically to stand-by.
If you want to send or receive a document at the end of the conversation, follow the procedure described
in the "Sending or receiving a document after a telephone conversation".
REGULATING THE VOLUME OF THE SPEAKER
This section explains how to regulate the volume of the speaker to one of the four levels available.

The facsimile machine is on and in stand-by. No document has been inserted in the facsimile machine.
Position the mask (right-hand section of the console) to display the function keys.
1.
Press SPEAK + several times. The volume of the
speaker gradually increases until the maximum vol-
ume is reached.
or
Press SPEAK - several times.
The volume of the speaker gradually decreases until
the minimum volume is reached.
2.
Press START to confirm the setting and return to
stand-by.
If you press STOP during the volume regulation
procedure, the procedure is aborted and the volume
remains at the previously set level.
