Possible cause
The configured board type does not
match the physical board, or the
configured sensor type does not
match the physical sensor.
The transmitter has been switched
from secure mode to unsecure
mode. In unsecured mode, the
transmitter configuration can be
changed.
The HART device ID is set to zero.
ble with the programmed board
type.
A meter verification test is in pro-
gress, with outputs set to Fault.
The signal from the sensor pick-
off(s) is insufficient. This suggests
that the sensor tubes or vibrating
elements are not vibrating. This
alert often occurs in conjunction
with Alert 102.

Recommended actions
Verify all of the characterization or cali-
bration parameters. See the sensor tag
or the calibration sheet for your meter.
Ensure that the correct board is instal-
led.
Verify the setting of the Sensor Type pa-
rameter.
If Sensor Type=Curved Tube, ensure that
no parameters specific to Straight Tube
have been set.
Check the HART device ID. For custody
transfer or MID applications, it must be
non-zero. If it is set to 0, contact the
factory.
Set the transmitter to secure to clear the
alert.
Note that additional procedures may be
required to return the device to secured
mode.
If the HART device ID is set to zero, en-
ter any nonzero value using ProLink III.
For example, enter the transmitter seri-
al number.
Contact customer support.
Allow the procedure to complete.
Check for air in the flow tubes, tubes
not filled, foreign material in the tubes,
coating in the tubes, or other process
problems.
Check for foreign material in the proc-
ess gas or fluid, coating, or other proc-
ess problems.
Check for fluid separation by monitor-
ing the density value and comparing
the results against expected density val-
ues.
Ensure that the sensor orientation is ap-
propriate for your application. Settling
from a two-phase or three-phase fluid
can cause this alert even if the flow
tubes are full.
