5.3.8 Relays as indicator contacts

If a relay is used as an indicator contact, a relay action is carried out
(Open, Close) if the monitored event occurs.
This function is suitable, e.g. for the monitoring of errors on the analyzer
modules. If an event takes place, the relay works as an indicator con-
tact.
Note
For monitoring functions, use the relay preferably as a normally closed
relay (see section 5.3.1). In the case of an error, the relay opens. As a
result, the monitoring function operates even if, e.g. the supply voltage
fails.
You can use the relay as an indicator contact for the following events:
 Alarm: Lack of sample
Relay is activated if there is a lack of sample
 Alarm: Container empty
Relay is activated if the container is empty
 Alarm: Replenish container
Relay is activated if the fluid level in the container falls below 10 cm
 Alarm: Malfunction
Relay is activated if a malfunction of any kind occurs
 Measurement value valid
Relay is activated as long as the measured value is valid
 Calibration running
Relay is activated when the analyzer module is in the calibration
mode
 Measurement running
Relay is activated when the analyzer module is in the measuring
mode
 Permeate state
If a permeate switch is installed, the relay is activated at the same
time as the three/two way valves of the permeate switch
Note
The messages, Lack of sample, Container empty/Fill container, can
only be output if the fluid level measurement and overpressure measu-
rement is active (see the M
of the analyzer module in this operating manual).
