Modem

5.6.1 General

With a modem, you can remotely operate the TresCon by remote con-
trol, carry out measurements and start maintenance activities. The
modem is connected to the RS232 interface of the TresCon. All RS
interface commands are available via the modem. TresCon can be pro-
grammed to ring up independently, e.g. to transmit data protocols or
instrument errors.
The tasks can be grouped as follows:
 Remote inquiries of
– current measured data
– stored measured data
– calibration data
– internal system states
 Automatic calling of the TresCon
– in the case of malfunction
– to transfer instructions
 Remote maintenance
Bidirectional modem operation via the RS232 interface is provided for
in the software for these tasks.

3.5.9 M

ODEM ON
Note
The modem can only be operated when no other instrument (printer or
PC) is connected to the RS232 interface.
