3.5.8 RS232 (V24)
The interface can be used to connect a printer or PC. You can use the
RS232 via the following connection options:
 via the D-SUB plug in the front of the mounting frame above the con-
troller
 via the D-SUB plug next to the terminal strip (designation X3)
 via connections on the X2 terminal strip. In the delivery condition,
these connections are attached to the D-SUB plug in the front of the
mounting frame. Disconnect the connecting cables from the terminal
strip, if you want to use the connections differently. The D-SUB plug
in the front of the mounting frame will then have no function.
Note
The D-SUB plug on front of the mounting frame serves to access the
RS232 interface rapidly and easily for diagnosis and service purposes.
The enclosure door must be open during the access. For a permanent
connection (e.g. for modem operation) use one of the options on the
terminal strip.
