Tip
To improve sound quality, try increasing power by reducing the Attenuation
setting and, if available, turn ON the Preamplifier. Learn how on page 64.
Listen Time
While Tune & Listen is actively demodulating a signal, the SA does not sweep
and update the display. Listen Time sets the amount of time that the FieldFox
demodulates, then stops to perform a single sweep and update the display, then
again demodulates.
To select Listen Time:
 Press Meas Setup 4
 Then
 Enter a value using the numeric keypad, ▲|▼ arrows, or the rotary knob.
Volume Control
To increase or decrease the Volume of the demodulated signal:
 Press Meas Setup 4
 Then
 Enter a value in percent between 0 and 100 (loudest) using the numeric
 Volume can also be changed and easily muted from the System menu. Learn

To quickly stop the audio demodulation and perform only the normal SA sweeps,
select the following:
 Press Meas Setup 4

Independent Source

The Independent Source feature allows you to turn on the internal FieldFox
source and use it while in SA mode. The source frequency can be set
independently or set to track the SA receiver frequency range.
The internal FieldFox source output power can be changed using attenuation.
NOTE
The internal FieldFox source output is NOT leveled.
To view the internal source, you must connect a cable or device between the RF
OUT connector and the RF IN connector.
How to make Independent Source Settings
 Press Measure 1.
 Then
SA (Spectrum Analyzer) Mode
to change the Tune Frequency to that of the marker.
Mkr->Tune Freq
Listen Time
Then select a multiplier key. Learn about multiplier abbreviations on page 18.
Volume
keypad, ▲|▼ arrows, or the rotary knob.
