8.2 Instrument Status

The Instrument Status is shown by a status flag constructed as a 16-bit value composed of
codes for various instrument functions. These include the Detector Status (bits 0,1); Flow (bits
2,3); Optical Source (bits 4,5); Chamber Position (bit 6); Tape Sensors (bits 7,8); Ball Valve (bit
9); Test Procedures (bits 10, 11 and 12); and other functions as shown in the table below.
The overall Status Code Number is the sum of all the decimal values of all of the possible
status flag values.
