CHECKING THE VALVE SPRING
1. Measure:
• Free length a
Out of specification → Replace.

52.25 mm (2.057 in)
2. Measure:
• Valve spring tilt a
Out of specification → Replace.
Valve spring tilt limit

2.6 mm (0.10 in)
CHECKING THE CYLINDER HEAD
Measure:
• Cylinder head warpage
Out of specification → Reface or
replace.
Warpage limit
0.1 mm (0.004 in)
CHECKING THE VALVE GUIDE
Measure:
• Valve guide bore a
Out of specification → Replace the
guide.
Valve guide bore
6.005 - 6.018 mm
(0.2364 - 0.2369 in)
Replacement steps
(1) Remove the valve guide with the valve
guide remover/installer.
