9.4.2 Configuring the Storm Control Function

The storm control function is used to control broadcast packets, multicast packets, and unknown
unicast packets on an interface.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
interface interface-type interface-number
The interface view is displayed.
Step 3 Run:
storm-control { broadcast | multicast | unicast } min-rate min-rate-value max-rate
max-rate-value
Storm control is performed on broadcast packets, multicast packets, or unknown unicast packets
on the interface.
Step 4 Run:
storm-control action { block | shutdown }
The storm control action is configured.
By default, the storm control action is not taken when the average rate of receiving packets on
an interface is greater than the value of the upper threshold.
Step 5 (Optional) Run:
storm-control enable { log | trap }
