After authentication, the name of the user is displayed in the top menu.
Troubleshooting of authentication by smart card
Introduction
When an error occurs during the configuration of the authentication by smart card, go to the
'Security' - 'Configuration' page and start the validation tool (See topic 'Validate the smart card
configuration').
Find below the list of possible causes of errors that can occur during the validation of the smart
card configuration.
Authentication by smart card: errors
A red cross in the report indicates an error:
Error message attach‐
ed to the red cross
Error detecting readers
Failed connecting with
card: The Smart card
resource manager is
not running.
A card is present but
unreadable (mute or in-
correctly inserted)
No certificates found

Possible cause(s)
Reader not supported or read-
er not correctly connected.
No smart card is inserted in
the smart card reader.
The smart card is not correctly
inserted.
The card is invalid.
No certificates found on the
card.
Actions
Check the connection of the smart
card reader.
Check that the smart card reader is
supported.
Insert a smart card into the reader.
Check the card.
Refer to the IT administrator.
