Shield connection

Make sure you observe the correct design of the shield support for the shielded cables. It is
the only way to ensure immunity of the system.
A cable is shielded to attenuate the effects of magnetic, electrical and electromagnetic
interference on the cable. Interference currents on cable shielding are diverted to ground by
conductive isolation rails. To avoid interference as a result of these currents, it is imperative
to provide a low-impedance connection to the ground.
Use only cables with protective braided shield (see recommended cables of load cells in
chapter Accessories (Page 181)). Shielding density must be at least 80%.
The SIWAREX WT241 is equipped with EMC safe cable glands. Follow the instruction below
for proper connected shield.

● Remove insulation
● Uncover shield
● Put cable through coupling nut
● Insert cable into clamp unit
● Impose braid on clamp unit
● Braid shall overlap O-ring by ca. 2mm
● Put clamp unit into the threaded coupling
● Mount gland to the terminal
