Cause
The alarm limit Pmax for the
airway pressure has been
reached. Patient "fights" the
ventilator, coughing.
Ventilation hose kinked, or
obstructed.
No pressure difference >5
mbar between inspiration
and expiration or set pres-
sure level is not achieved.
Leak in cuff.
Leakage or disconnection.
Fault in flow measurement
hoses.
Technical defect.
The device has been
switched on and the self-
test completed successfully.
The control knob for setting

AirMix or 100% O

in a middle position.
Parameters have been
changed on the screen but
not confirmed.
Supply pressure <270 kPa.
Remedy
Check patient's condition, check
ventilation pattern, adjust alarm
limits if necessary.
Check hose system, breathing
valve and tube.
Inflate cuff and check for leaks.
Check hose system for leaking
connections. Ensure that the
breathing valve has been installed
correctly.
Ensure hose system for loose con-
nections. Ensure flow measure-
ment hoses are connected
correctly.
