Setting Up PMS Integration (cont'd)
For your reference (cont'd). . .
The PMS system can send a Station Restriction message to
change the Toll Restriction level of any checked-in room
telephone. Like dialing from the supervisor's phone, this
temporarily changes the setting in Program 1022.
When using the temporary override, when the room is checked
out, Program 1022 is restored to the Toll Restriction level corre-
sponding to PMS Restriction code 0.
2805 - PMS Timers, Item 1: PMS Enquiry Time
To set up the PMS for messaging, the phone system sends an
Enquiry (ENQ) command to the PMS and waits the PMS
Enquiry Time for an Acknowledge (ACK) response. If there is no
response, the phone system retries for the number of times speci-
fied in this option. If there is still no response, the phone system
marks the PMS as Out of Service.
2805 - PMS Timers, Item 2: PMS Message Time
Each time the phone system sends a PMS message, it waits the
PMS Message Time for an Acknowledge (ACK) response from
the PMS. If there is no response, the phone system retries for the
number of times specified in this option. If an ACK is still not
received, the phone system marks the PMS as Out of Service.
2805 - PMS Timers, Item 3: PMS "Are You There" Time
If no PMS messages are exchanged for the "Are You There"
time, the phone system sends an Areyouthere message to the
PMS. If the PMS does not send an Acknowledge (ACK) response
within the PMS Message Time, the phone system retries for the
number of times specified in this option. If there is still no
response, the phone system marks the PMS as Out of Service.
2805 - PMS Timers, Item 4: PMS Message Time
This timer starts when the Message Start character (STX) is
received. If the End of Message character (ETX) is not received,
the system has the option of ignoring the message or sending a
Non-Acknowledge (NAK) signal to the PMS to have the message
resent. (Program 2803, Item 4 must be set to '1').
When messages are slowed by the NVM, increase this time.
