T1 Timer
After the DCE (DCI) sends
a packet, it must receive a
response from the connect-
ed DTE within the T1 inter-
val. If a response is not
received, the DCE resends
the packet.

T2 Timer
After the connected DTE
receives a packet from the
DCE, it must respond with-
in the T2 interval. (T2 must
be less than T1.)

The maximum number of
bits in an I (Information
Transfer) frame.

After T1 expires, N2 is the
maximum number of trans-
mission and retransmissions
of a packet allowed.
