I am trying to see why my phone is ringing now when intercom call when it used to just allow person to talk and say something. Now it rings and requires me to pick up my phone.
Also, we had a door bell system that rang through our phone receivers and is no longer ringing on only one phone, mine, but still works elsewhere and I dont know how to regain this.

The NEC DT300 Series phone may ring for intercom calls instead of allowing direct (voice-announced) communication if the call mode is set to "ring" instead of "voice." This can happen if someone dialed "1" during a call, which toggles between ring and voice modes.
To restore voice-announced (doorbell system) functionality: - Press "1" during an intercom call to switch from ring mode back to voice mode.
This allows the call to be automatically answered hands-free (doorbell style) if the MIC key is enabled.

I work at a Skilled Nursing Facility, when 1 of our resident calls, instead of ringing, it comes over on the speaker where he can hear and our staff can converse without picking up the receiver, I would appreciate if you can fix the problem so it comes in as a incoming call again

To ensure incoming calls ring on the NEC DT300 Series phone instead of only showing a flashing light or using the speaker, try the following steps:
1. Press the Speaker button. 2. Dial 620. 3. Hang up the handset.
This command toggles the ringer on or off. If the phone still doesn't ring, confirm that the ringer volume is turned up and not muted. Also, make sure the headset mode is not enabled, as this can disable the ringer.

To stop the red light from flashing on an NEC DT300 Series phone when there is no voicemail, you can:
1. Program a single-line port as a voicemail port. 2. Use a single-line phone or a butt-set to dial the message waiting lamp (MWL) off code. 3. Alternatively, go off-hook on the extension and dial the code assigned to feature A146 (for example, "693"), then hang up. Repeat this a few times until the light turns off.
These steps help clear the Message Waiting light when no voicemail is present.

how to enable auto answer feature, when picking up phone
1 comments:
Mr. Anderson
May 14, 2025
To enable the auto answer feature on NEC DT300 Series phones, system programming may be required. Normally, picking up the handset or pressing the Speaker key automatically seizes a ringing line. If this is not happening, it could be due to station data not being properly configured after switching phones.
You may need to access the NEC SV8100 system through WebPro or a similar admin tool and adjust the station settings to enable auto line selection or auto answer for the specific extension. This ensures that lifting the handset automatically connects to the ringing line without pressing the line button.
