Symptom
Mobile computer
battery is not
charging.
Spare battery is
not charging.
During data
communications,
no data was
transmitted, or
transmitted data
was incomplete.
Possible Cause
Mobile computer was
removed from cradle or
cradle was unplugged
from AC power too soon.
Battery is faulty.
The mobile computer is
not fully seated in the
cradle.
Battery not fully seated in
charging slot.
Battery inserted
incorrectly.
Battery is faulty.
Mobile computer
removed from cradle
during communications.
Incorrect cable
configuration.
Communications
software is not installed
or configured properly.
Ensure cradle is receiving power. Ensure mobile computer is
seated correctly. Confirm main battery is charging. If a mobile
computer battery is fully depleted, it can take up to four hours
to fully recharge a battery (if the mobile computer is off and
longer if the mobile computer is operating).

Verify that other batteries charge properly. If so, replace the
faulty battery.
Remove and re-insert the mobile computer into the cradle,
ensuring it is firmly seated.
Remove and re-insert the spare battery into the cradle,
ensuring it is firmly seated.
Ensure the contacts are facing down and toward the back of
the cradle.
Verify that other batteries charge properly. If so, replace the
faulty battery.
Replace mobile computer in cradle and retransmit.
See the System Administrator.
Perform setup as described in
Ensure that Microsoft ActiveSync 4.1 or greater is installed on
the host computer.
