FRONT BRAKE PADS SUBSTITUTION

To replace the front brake pads, remove the front brake
caliper, as detailed in the "Suspensions and Wheels"
section.
Widen the pads with a screwdriver so that the pistons
are pushed back into their seats (as shown in the fig-
ure).
The movement towards the outside of the
brake pads makes the pistons go back into
their seats, with the consequent increase in
the level of the brake fluid in the brake fluid
chamber.
Move either pad to the centre of the opening and pull it
out of the caliper. Repeat on the other pad.

Every 6000 kilometres, check the wear of the pads.
The thickness of the friction material must not be less
than 1 mm. If the pads are excessively worn, substitute
them.
