STARTER MOTOR CHECK

If a fault has been diagnosed in the starter motor, it is
necessary to proceed as follows with the check:
• Connect a tester between earth and the starter
motor terminal.
• Check that there is continuity between the positive
pole and the engine earth. If there is no continuity,
substitute the starter motor.

STARTER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

Assemble the starter motor in the reverse order of
removal. Pay attention to the following points:
Substitute the O-ring with a new one to avoid oil
leakage and the ingress of humidity.
- Apply grease to the oil seal lip.
- Apply a small quantity of MOLYKOTE to the rotor
shaft.
- Apply a small quantity of LOCTITE 243 to the bolts of
the starter motor.
