The server makes an immediate connection
Preferred
to the indicated host machine and port
number. The Host , Remote and Mode fields
must be filled in. Although the user is
connected to a designated host, the user can
hot key ^] back from this connection to the
unit. This allows a user to configure the
system so that they always log into one
machine, but still have the option of
connecting to others.
The server makes an immediate connection
Dedicated
to the indicated host and port number. The
user is limited to only a single connection to
the indicated host, and can not hot key back
to the server menus. The Host , Remote and
Mode fields must be set properly.
This setting is similar to the Dedicated
Initiated
connection, but requires the user to enter the
return key before initiating a connection. It is
widely used for terminal/PC connections.
This field defines the remote host to be
Host
connected to. Either a host name or an IP
address may be used. If a name is entered it
must be in the host table. Default is blank.
This field defines the remote TCP port number
Remote Port
for the server to connect to. Use port number
23 for telnet and 513 for rlogin . Default is 0 .
This field defines the local TCP port for the
Local Port
Terminal Server to listen on. The port default to
10000 plus the number of the port.
