Problem
I purchased a smart
card upgrade kit.
How do I use it to
upgrade the scan-
ner?
Possible cause and solution
You need to insert your new smart card into the scanner to
upgrade its functionality.
Access the smart card:
Remove the scanner's right side cover.
The Smart Card is placed in the card insertion slot above
the scanner interface connectors.
Insert your thumb in the slot at the top of the interface
cover.
Push down to snap the lid open.
Remove the interface cover with both hands.
Smart Card is inserted in its slot above the interface connec-
tions
Note:
The cover must always be closed before you turn the
scanner ON.
Note:
Be sure that the scanner is turned off when removing
and inserting a Smart Card or accessing the Smart Card
area.
