– Remove the engine spoiler and holder
( 46.14).

Secure lifter, BMW No. 00 1 510, to oil sump.

Important:
Do not operate the handbrake lever when the brake
calipers have been removed. Protect painted parts
from scratching: apply adhesive masking tape if
necessary.
– Remove front wheel (

– Remove left and right fairing side sections
( 46.8).

– Remove the rear section of the front mudguard
( 46.6).

Disconnect the ABS sensor and cable from the
telescopic fork.

Note:
If the telescopic fork is to be disassembled, loosen
end screws (1) on fixed fork tube (4) at left/right.
Screws are secured with a thread-locking com-
pound.
•
Loosen the left/right handlebar holder clamp (3).
•
Loosen the left/right fork bridge clamp (2).
