Attention:
Do not separate the brake caliper halves!
Drive the retaining pins (3) out towards the wheel
side.
Remove pin (2) and spring (1).
Remove brake pads.
Remove the brake caliper (
Close the bleed screw.
X
Tightening torque:
Bleed screw to brake caliper ........................ 10 Nm
Hold a cloth over the brake caliper piston.

Attention:
Keep fingers away from gap between piston and
side contact face of brake pads; risk of injury.
Carefully press out brake piston (6) with a com-
pressed air gun applied to the connecting bore;
work at low air pressure.

Keep the brake pistons parallel with their bores
when installing.

Make sure spring (1) is correctly positioned, i.e.
closed at rear (arrow).

Remove sealing rings from left and right bores.
Inspect the brake caliper piston for hairline
cracks, score-marks and other damage.

Assembling rear brake caliper

Coat new sealing rings (4, 5) with brake fluid and
insert them into the left and right brake caliper
bores.
Coat both brake pistons with brake fluid and in-
stall; force the pistons all the way back.

Note:
Install brake caliper (
34.5).

Insert brake pads and secure with retainers
(
00.43).

Install retaining pins (3) with pin (2) and
spring (1).
