23. Cleaning Blade and Brush Replacement

1. Remove the cleaning blade release spring [A].
2. While pressing the cleaning blade pressure lever [B] in the direction of
the arrow, remove the cleaning blade mounting screw [C].
3. Remove the old cleaning blade [D].
4. Remove the brush spindle [E] (1 screw) and take out the old cleaning brush
[F].
5. Clean the inside of the cleaning unit; then, check the blade cleaner and
all of the seals.
6. Install a new cleaning brush. Make sure the notch of the cleaning brush
is fitted properly over the positioning lug of the front spindle.

7. Install a new cleaning blade. (Be careful not to damage the edge of the
new blade.)
8. Tighten the two blade cleaner mounting screws.
9. Check the movement of the cleaning blade, the blade cleaner, and the
rotation of the cleaning brush.
Replace any that are bent or damaged.
