Table 7–7 Operating System Reported Failures
Symptom
System is hung or has crashed.
Errors have been logged and the
operating system is up.
Action
If possible, halt the system with the Halt/Reset button
or the RMC halt command. (J22 pins 13-14 must be
removed. If J22 is installed you will reset and you will
loose system context and no crash can be acquired.)
Then enter the SRM crash command and examine the
crash dump file.
Refer to the Guide to Kernel Debugging (AA-PS2TD-
TE) for information on using the Tru64 UNIX Crash
utility.
Examine the operating system error log files.
