TCP/IP Filters

Filtering allows you to specifically allow or disallow calls into the
Nautica 200. If a filter is created, it will work according to the IP
Filtering option set up in
12-6
Proxy Arp
Disabled

Enables or disables Proxy ARP
Enabling Proxy Arp allows the Nautica 200 to respond
to any ARP requests that are known to be associated to
this route.
An ARP Request is a request for a MAC address to
associate with a known IP address. With Proxy ARP
enabled, all these requests will be sent out along the path
specified in the Path parameter
Nautica 200 pretends to be the host specified in the
requested ARP. It is a feature used more commonly with
single host addressing (Chapter 2) and Cul-de-sac
routing (Chapter 4).
Cul-de-sac Route

Marks this route as a Cul-de-sac route
Cul-de-sac routes are routes linking into a remote
network that uses the same subnet as the local LAN. If
you set up a Cul-de-sac route, you must also select the
Proxy Arp parameter.
