Max Bandwidth (b/s): Max Bandwidth prevents
the use of all available switched circuits for extra
bandwidth. An option of 0 means that Max
Bandwidth has no upper limit.
Demand Threshold (%): Demand Threshold is a
percentage utilisation of the total bandwidth of the
path. The second channel will be brought up
automatically when the first channel is used this
much. 0 disables the facility.
If this parameter is used in conjunction with Idle
Demand Period (s): Set in seconds, this parameter
is associated with the Demand Threshold and the
Idle Threshold parameters. The parameter specifies
the time for which the Demand (or Idle) threshold
must be met in order to bring up (or down) a link.
For example, Demand Threshold is set to 80% and
Demand Period to 30 seconds. If a call is made to an
ISP and large files are downloaded, a Call Request
for extra bandwidth will be made to the ISP when
the utilisation exceeds 80% for longer than 30
seconds.
Idle Threshold (%): The percentage utilisation
below which a switched call is classed as idle and a
single additional channel is closed. The default here
is 0, although the figure should be non-zero if
Bandwidth on Demand is used. This parameter is
related to the Demand Period parameter.
The value here should be half that of the Demand
