Banding at Random Pitch (Metallic Paper)

When printing is performed on metallic paper, white streaks 5 to 40 mm (0.2 to 1.6 inches) long
appear all over the paper perpendicular to the paper feed direction.
Cause:
The surface of metallic paper is of very low resistance and the paper transfer current tends to be
transferred on the paper surface to nearby parts. As a result, due to the lack of necessary transfer bias,
banding at random pitch occurs.
Solutions:
1.
If the paper is not registered as custom paper, register the brand of the paper.
2.
In [Detailed settings] for the custom paper you are using, select 1214: [Paper Transfer
Output], and then adjust the values in the following settings in steps of ±1 according to the
mode in use.
• 1214-01: Paper Transfer Output: BW: Side 1
• 1214-02: Paper Transfer Output: BW: Side 2
• 1214-05: Paper Transfer Output: FC/FCS: Side 1
