Uneven Glossiness on Side 2 (Back of the Paper)
Uneven glossiness appears on side 2 in duplex printing.
Cause:
Due to the paper curl happening during the feeding of Side 1 (front), the paper is lifted, and when Side
2 (back) enters the fusing nip, the trailing edge of the paper comes into contact with the fusing belt,
resulting in uneven glossiness.
Occurrence conditions:
• When printing on thin coated paper with a thickness
• When using paper containing moisture in a hot and humid environment
Solution:
1.
If the paper is not registered as custom paper, register the brand of the paper.
2.
If there is room to reduce the print speed (from "High" or from "Middle"), and if the
reduced throughput does not cause a problem, go to the next step.
Otherwise, perform the procedure from Step 5 in "(b) Changing the fusing temperature (If [Print
Speed] is set to [Low])".
3.
In [Detailed settings] for the custom paper you are using, select 1231: [Print Speed], and
then decrease the value in the following corresponding settings by one level.
